We arrived home on Tueday and we've been so tired I'm just now getting some updates. Things are going great! Jianna and Nathan have gone from tolerating each other's presence to playing together. Nathan has really enjoyed showing her around the house. It's so sweet how they grab each other's hands and arms. He is sharing his toys and letting her play in his room which is something unexpected.
It might be helpful that they don't seem to enjoy the same toys. She doesn't seem to like building blocks and they are his passion. She wants dolls and girly things and likes to draw and paint which he doesn't. So maybe they will leave each other's toys alone.
I brought out some of Nathan's old electronic toys that teach words and ABC's. He is having great fun showing her how they work. They argue over what the proper name for something is. He insists it is it's English name and she yells the Chinese name back at him then they both giggle. Nathan is actually learning some Chinese and now refuses to greet people or say thanks in English.
I pray that my children will always get along so well. It is good to have my whole family home
